Portages:

  • 40 Portages.  They are used very little on the upper reaches, generally poorly marked and maintained.

  • South Namiwan by Bisset Air in Bisset.

Finish (Take Out):

  • Weaver Lake by Bisset Air

Alternate Access:

  • WAM Air (Matheson Island).

Remoteness:

  • Fly-in lodges on the four large lakes.

Comments:

  • Lots of beaches, route varies between large lakes.
  • There are wild rice, abandoned rice camps, granite cliffs, Native pictographs.  In season, you will find blueberries all along the way.
  • The area west of Namiwan was burned.
