Canoe Basic Skills
Description
The Canoeing Basic Skills course is designed to introduce the novice to paddling with a partner in calm lake waters. The skills and knowledge gained at this level form the foundation necessary for confident safe paddling activities. Rescue techniques at this level are demonstrated with the option for participant involvement.

$55 Paddle Manitoba / FortWhyte Members, $85 Non-Members
Equipment
Canoes, paddles, PFDs, and safety equipment are provided. Please wear clothing appropriate for the conditions and bring a change. As part of learning paddling skills you will participate in a "wet exit" and rescues – essential for safe paddling technique – so bring a change of clothes. More details of required items will be found on your registration form.
Successful Completion
Students will receive Paddle Canada certification in Canoeing Basic Skills or Lake Canoe Skills Introduction Tandem upon successful completion of their course.
