Notes from the Board!
Kim Palmquist – President
First and for most I am a kayaker but I enjoy all types of paddling from canoe racing to surfski kayaking. As the new president of Paddle Manitoba, I hope to make Paddle Manitoba the best it can be and bring new ideas and new energy to this group! I hope to get more people out on the water enjoying and learning all types of paddling whether it be canoeing or kayaking!
Chris Randall – Vice President
I have been paddling for 17ish years. I love canoeing for the places it takes me – both mentally and physically. I have also paddled a kayak and was in the process of completing a combine instructor’s award when we emigrated from the UK to Canada. I volunteer as a way of paying for all the help and friendly words I have received from so many people over the years.
Selena Randall – Secretary
As a newcomer to Canada and Manitoba, I joined the Paddle Manitoba Board to make new friends and find new paddling partners. I was secretary for the Open Canoe Association in Great Britain for 5 years before immigrating to Manitoba 18 months ago. I think Paddle Manitoba’s strengths are its regular events such as Wednesday night paddles through summer, Paddlefest, and the Waterwalker film festival, and hope the club can build on the success of these and add some new ones to the list to get people paddling. I enjoy paddling tandem with my partner, Chris and dog Holly, but I am also looking forward to some solo time in 2012!

Tim Lutz – Community Collaboration
Tim has been fascinated with canoes for as long as he can remember. He has spent plenty of time canoeing and trip leading, and has dabbled in sea kayaking a bit. This year Tim is excited about getting more people involved with Paddle Manitoba and working with the board to offer some new and innovative programs for members.
